This paper introduces the virtual instrument and its development environment LabVIEW, discusses and realizes the advanced technology Dynamic Link Library(DLL), which is a general method for calling the external code from LabVIEW. It has been proved that this method is high efficient, easy to apply, practicable, and it is a good way of improving the LabVIEW's capability in sharing data with other applications of Windows.
