The method of measuring small diameter based on laser diffraction priciple is introducedin this paper. Using linear CCD device to receive image of laser diffraction, the data acquisition,processing and calcu1ation are completed by 8O98 single chip microcomputer; fulfilling the measurementof diameter of thread or wire with smill diameter on line.
