This paper introduces the definition, measurement, mathematical model, process control,function and characteristics of every pararneter of C - 8587A Multiple Parameter Surface RoughnessMeasuring Instrument. All functions of the instrument using the microcomputer with single chip andprogram using assembler language are completed and the advantages of the instrument are given.
