The principles of the producing and testing of the ring laser gyroscope are presented briefly in this paper.Through analyzing the test system of the dead zone, the dead zone test plan based on the virtual instrument technology is given.Going through the practical test,the new dead zone system can realize the autotest.The test time can be shortened from over 10 minutes to only 20 seconds.The uncertainty of the test result is less than 10 Hz.
