The concept and features of image navigation are reviewed in the paper. The typical application of image navigation in robot navigation,missile navigation and terrain aided navigation is introduced. Also, the paper discusses the feature of the image navigation, as well as the advantages and limitations in the different application field. Especially, the image navigation used in the aircraft is analyzed in detail. A prediction about the prospective and development of image navigation is given in the end.
