This paper introduces the instrument used for measuring contacting spots of gear. Theinstrument uses advanced linear CCD device for measuring sensor,and processing data and graphics withIBM PC/XT. It enables the measurement of contacting spots of gear to havealong jump compared withtraditional method. This paper focuses on optical and mechanical principle structure of the instrumentbriefly.
