This paper provides a comprehensive review of the current research on undersampled signal analysis in the frequency domain for blade tip timing. Existing sensor placement methods are categorized into four distinct scenarios based on their placement configuration: single sensor, dual sensor, multi-sensor, and sensors with specific location constraints. Each category is integrated and reviewed from the perspective of frequency-domain analysis. Emphasis is placed on four fundamental approaches of BTT spectrum analysis—time series fitting, band-limited signal reconstruction theory, sparse representation theory, and array signal processing—detailing their underlying principles and characteristics. The properties of analyzing the synchronous and asynchronous vibrations are discussed. Furthermore, the paper identifies four future research directions: uncertainty quantification in frequency-domain analysis, amplitude validity assessment, analysis of novel sampling strategies for tip timing, and intelligent feature extraction and fault diagnosis. |
